Foreign Minister attended the Certificate Awarding Ceremony of ‘Leadership Course for Officers-designate to Labour Wings of Bangladesh Missions abroad’
The Certificate Awarding Ceremony of ‘Leadership Course for Officers-designate to Labour Wings of Bangladesh Missions abroad’ was arranged by the Foreign Service Academy on 12 November 2020. Hon’ble Foreign Minister H.E. Dr. A. K. Abdul Momen, MP graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Foreign Secretary and Senior Secretary to the Government Amb. Masud Bin Momen was present at the ceremony as Guest of Honour. Additional Foreign Secretaries and Director Generals of Ministry of Foreign Affairs were also present. The Foreign Service Academy provided this two-week-long training to 12 participants from different Ministry who are expected to join Bangladesh Missions in Doha (Qatar), Abu Dhabi (UAE), Cairo (Egypt), Tripoli (Libya), Geneva (Switzerland), Athens (Greece), Milan (Italy), Moscow (Russia), Jeddah (KSA) and Singapore very soon. This Leadership Course was inaugurated by the State Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Md. Shahriar Alam, MP on 01 November 2020.
Foreign Minister, in his keynote speech, advised the Counsellor/First Secretaries-designate to serve the expatriate Bangladeshi workers especially who are less fortunate, with commitment, dedication, and honesty refraining from any sort of corruption which might be disgraceful for the country and all. Recognizing the task of labor officers ‘one of the most challenging jobs at the foreign missions’, the Foreign Minister urged them to find out innovative and creative ways to help expatriate workers, especially the women, who often suffer the most. Foreign Secretary Amb. Masud Bin Momen also spoke on the occasion.
