To become a platform of global standing for exchange of knowledge, ideas, and views among diplomats, experts, academics, and intelligentsia in areas of diplomacy and foreign affairs in pursuit of ‘Friendship to All, Malice towards None’- the philosophical basis of Bangladesh foreign policy enunciated by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
To inspire a new generation of diplomats of the Bangladesh Foreign Service to equip themselves and be prepared to represent the country through the rapid transformation taking place in the country under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina towards attaining Vision 2041 – a knowledge based, modern, developed and prosperous Bangladesh.
FSA MISSION STATEMENT
To help build a patriotic, competent and professional foreign service for Bangladesh that can serve the nation by protecting and promoting her interests and securing her a place as a respected and responsible member in the comity of nations.
To create an enabling environment for learning and practicing diplomatic knowledge and skills through indigenous, innovative and international standard methodologies of training and instruction.
To contribute in deepening and strengthening of relations between Bangladesh and friendly countries by offering training to diplomats from various countries by offering scholarships and other funded programmes as a reflection of Bangladesh’s enhanced capacity to assist other developing and LDC countries.
To contribute towards building up a skilled and professional government service by training Government officials from different Ministries/Divisions/Departments and other organizations on negotiations and communications and for their capacity building.
To arrange orientation courses for officers going on Diplomatic assignment in different Wings in the various Bangladesh Missions abroad to enable them to function successfully as a part of the team in the Mission.
Promoting cultures and heritage of Bangladesh through various training programmes aimed at both Bangladeshi and international participants.
To act as a repository of a pool of resource persons consisting of experts, academics and practitioners in diplomacy and foreign affairs discourse, with particular aim to promote the core values of Bangladesh’s freedom movement culminating in the War of Liberation of 1971 as enshrined in her Constitution for the benefit of the nation.
To continue to develop as an Institution through exploring collaborative arrangements with other similar international training institutions and academic institutions through curriculum sharing, faculty exchange, trainee visits, and engaging with academicians and experts of international repute.
