Professional Master’s in International Relations & Diplomacy (PMIRD)

The Department of International Relations of the University of Dhaka and the Foreign Service Academy (FSA), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA), Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, designed this Professional Master’s in International Relations and Diplomacy (PMIRD) to cater to the professional needs of the young Foreign Service officers of Bangladesh and its friendly countries. The program is designed to complement the scope of the SDTC program by incorporating the academic perspective into the curriculum with a view to upgrading it into a doctoral program in the future. The innovative PMIRD curriculum aims to transform the trainees into better professionals by giving them a solid academic foundation. It should be mentioned that the PMIRD is the subset program under the umbrella of the SDTC which implies that a participant is required to complete both credit and non-credit courses to successfully graduate from the program.

Award of Degree

The PMIRD program will be offered by the Department of International Relations, University of Dhaka. On completion of the degree requirements, the University of Dhaka will award a Master’s Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy (PMIRD). Students completing the required courses with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 will be eligible for the PMIRD.
